fly with them

Hi, Jesus loves you

Are you running the race alone? What about your people? Many times, we are so engulfed in growing in the Lord and many other things that we forget that there are people under our roof that should grow in the Lord too. This post tells you to carry them along.

But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you – Genesis 6:18 (NKJV)

So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, “Go, serve the Lord your God. Who are the ones that are going?” And Moses said, “We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for we must hold a feast to the Lord.” Exodus 10:8-9 (NKJV)

Truly, the activities of the day sometimes are numerous that you will want to reduce some of them. Unfortunately, many Christians will start with the activities that involve God to the point that they cease or limit the number of times they fellowship with God as a family. This is a wrong step to take, because you miss the blessings of having family altar.

When God was to save Noah from the destruction of the world by flood, He included his family. And when Moses was asking Pharaoh to let his people go, he insisted on going with their wives and children. God expects you to carry them along.

It is good to build yourself up spiritually; it is equally good for your household to build themselves up spiritually. The bible says that one will chase a thousand and two will put ten thousand to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30). Besides, you will enjoy rest. Proverbs 29:17 encourages you to correct your son so that he will give you rest, and the infallible way to train a child is with the use of the word of God. So, as you study the word of God and pray, get them to study the word of God and pray.

And family altar is the best place to teach them by example. When you spend time together fellowshipping with God, then it will be easier for them to do it alone with God. You will always have time to do anything you create time for. All you need is to see how important it is for you to carry them along and you will have time to do it.

It is not too early to teach your little children, it is for you to teach them what they can understand at their level, even if it means them lying down in your midst while others are actively participating in the fellowship. You will be surprised by what they are learning from you all when they start manifesting them even as a play thing.

This includes your spouse too, because if for any reason (God forbid) you develop cold feet in the things of the Lord, as Pastor Adeboye of RCCG said, you will fall to the level of your spouse. So, if your spouse is at the bottom with the things of God that will be the level to which you will fall to. But, if he or she is equally building him or herself, you will not fall far down. He or she will uphold you till you come up again.

So, in this New Year, make it a priority to carry your family along in your quest to grow spiritually and please the Lord. And if they resist you physically, you will win them on your knees. Enjoy a restful New Year.
