What is your interpretation of the things happening in the world? Your perspective and response to the unfolding events in the world will determine what effect or impact they will have on you now and in the future. This post is a product of insights, reflections and understanding of the message preached by Dr David Oyedepo during the annual gathering of Living Faith Church members worldwide, which was called ‘Shiloh 2016’, and it admonishes that you prepare for your exemption during this dark season.
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee – Isaiah 60:2 (KJV)
For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars….For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows – Matthew 24: 5-8 (NKJV).
Darkness is come already. It is gross darkness that is yet to come. If you can’t handle the darkness, gross darkness will overwhelm you. The question that was asked and I throw back to you was ‘what are you doing to be exempted?’ Mathew 24: 5-8 listed certain evil events that will happen before the second coming of Christ and the end of the age (Matthew 24:3). A lot have come and are coming to pass and many more will still come to pass. Interestingly, Jesus said the list is just the beginning of sorrows. What are you doing to escape these sorrows?
Many Christians don’t read the handwriting on the walls of times, instead they complain, murmur and join the world in reacting negatively. You are to take a different approach and ensure that no matter what happens, it will not come near you (Psalm 91:7). You are not to fear what the world fears (1 Peter 3:14) nor say what they say, instead when they are cast down you are to be saying there is a lifting up (Job 22:29)
A time is coming when there will be no hiding place but in God. You are not to toil with what is happening now. Testimonies are not accidents but raw products of applied revelation. Your exemption will not come out of agenda but according to applied revelation. It is time to fortify your position in Christ and apply the word of God as a lifestyle.
Areas of fortification
Three major things you need to increase in your life at this time include:
1. Obedience of Faith
Testimonies are raw obedience of faith of the saints. A change will not come except you change it by your obedience of faith. Testimonies don’t just happen but are provoked by your prompt obedience. No prophet will give you what you are not qualified for. You need to walk in obedience to God’s instructions as a lifestyle; this will cause you to live above the challenges of life.
2. Prayer life
Prayer-less people are people who want a change without doing anything. Nothing of value is ever free. If you want to sing a new song while the world is crying, you need to fortify your prayer life. Through communion with God in prayer you gain access to secrets of exemption. You enforce the will of God concerning you in your daily life when you pray.
3. Word of God
It is the word you put to work that works for you. You don’t wait for testimonies, you work it. Until you are ready to apply the instructions in God’s word, you are not ready for testimonies. It is aligning with instructions that will determine your position and what comes to you at this time.
In conclusion, the manifestation of gross darkness is a reality, but what you do with the above three areas of fortification will determine the reality of Psalm 91 in your life. You won’t have to go through the evils that the enemy is dishing out into the world if you will take the responsibility of fortifying these three areas in your life. May this time be an era of humbling testimonies for you in Jesus name.

The exemption is talking about the attacks or manifestations of the enemy at this time in the world. These include the recession and poverty, killings, sickness and disease, kidnappings and so on.

God has given me a message for Christians to “fear not” the future and the present. Things are going to start to happen that terrifies people, horrible things. If you have faith knowing that God s in control you don’t have fear. fear is the opposite of faith. Thanks for your website – karen
