Enjoy Heaven

Hi, Jesus loves you.

Have you ever imagined how it would be like if you can start living on earth as if you were in heaven? Heaven being a beautiful place is paved with gold and is a pain and sorrow free place; you have only joy and peace. Is it possible to have heaven on earth you may ask? I have good news for you- yes you can enjoy heaven on earth. This article aims at showing you how to enjoy heaven while you are on earth.

And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelations 21:3-4 (NKJV)

In this manner, therefore, pray: our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven – Matthew 6:9-10 (NKJV)

Heaven is a place to be indeed! But why wait until you die or the end of the world before enjoying what heaven has to offer, when you can have it now on earth?

Revelations 21:3-4 tell us that God will later come and dwell with men, and at that time He will wipe away tears and there will be no more death, sorrow, crying or pain. So heaven will be a reality on earth later. But you can start enjoying it now. I will tell you how.

How to enjoy heaven on earth

Jesus Christ while teaching how to pray showed us how to enjoy heaven on earth (Matthew 6:9-10):

1. Through prayer.

Christ said you should pray for God’s kingdom to come and that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Therefore, anything you see happening around you that does not look like what happens in heaven, you have the power to change through prayers. You are to pray for heaven (God’s kingdom) to come down. And until you see it happen as it is in heaven, you don’t stop praying.

When Dorcas died, the disciples refused to accept her death, so they sent for Peter to come. And when he did, he knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and came back to life – Acts 9:38-40

Also, Elijah commanded heaven to come down. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. Afterwards he prayed again, this time seven times, and the heaven gave rain – James 5:17-18, 1 Kings 18:41-45

2. Having a good understanding of the Word of God

You can’t pray that God’s will be done on earth if you don’t know the will of God. So if you want your prayer to be effective, you need to study the bible to know the will of God concerning the issue on ground. For instance, the scripture says in 1 Peter 2:24 that by the stripes of Jesus you were healed. Now you know that your healing has been taken care of, so it is God’s will for you not to be sick. Based on this, you can pray that your healing be established as it is in heaven.

In 1 Kings 17:8-18, it was as it is in heaven for Elijah and the widow of Zarephath, they enjoyed heaven on earth. There was famine and the Lord told Elijah to go to Zarephath that a widow there would feed him. On getting there the woman had what was going to be enough for only one meal for her son and herself. However, Elijah had a good understanding of what God said to Him, and asked the woman to go and make a meal first for him and afterward for her son and herself, that God had said that the meal would never finish. And it was so till the famine was over.

3. Having a right standing with God

A father will always attend to his children’s needs first before considering any other person. Jesus said you should pray starting by calling God father, and you will have no right to do so if you are not recorded as His child. And you do this by accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour, believing in your heart that God raised Him from death – (Romans 10:9-10. Your right standing with God makes your prayer effective when you pray according to the will of God – (1 John 5:14-15)

Paul didn’t even need to pray at an instance, his right standing with God commanded heaven to come down for him. In Acts 28:3-6, a viper came out of the bundle of sticks that Paul was carrying and fastened itself on his hand because of the heat from the fire. When the natives saw it, they concluded that Paul was a murderer and that justice was to prevail over him. Paul shook off the snake into the fire and suffered no harm. However, the natives expected him to die afterwards but when he didn’t they concluded that he was a god.

In conclusion, it is very possible for you to enjoy heaven while here on earth. Christ who came from heaven knew the secret and delivered it to us while teaching on how to pray. No wonder, the apostles chose to give themselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word (Acts 6:4); and they commanded heaven on earth throughout their time. You too can have the same testimony starting from today. Do like Jesus instructed and you will be the next to have it as it is in heaven.
