Let God remember

Hi, Jesus loves you.

How will you feel if God remembers you today? Your story will become a testimony and your future brighter and glorious. In this world full of challenges, everyone needs God to remember him or her at one point or another.  This post aims at provoking you to seek God to remember you.

And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.” – 1 Samuel 1:19-20 (NKJV, emphasis mine)

The Lord has remembered us; he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron – Psalm 115:12 (ESV)

And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt  – Genesis 19:29 (NKJV)

Are you up to your neck with a challenge? What you need is for God to remember you and stretch His hand towards you to deliver you. When God shines His face upon you and releases His favour towards you no enemy of yours can hold you anymore.  When God remembers you, something definite must surely happen.

For instance, When Noah was locked up in the ark with his family and some animals, there was heavy down pour of rain for months. But when God remembered him, He made a wind to pass over the earth and the rain ceased – Genesis 8:1-2

Also, when God was destroying the cities of the plain, He remembered Abraham and delivered Lot his nephew from the destruction – Genesis 19:29. And when The Israelites cried out under the Egyptian bondage, God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and delivered them from the hands of their enemies – Exodus 2:24

Furthermore, when God remembered all the women recorded in the scriptures to be barren, they all became joyful mothers of children: Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, Hannah, Samson’s mother and Elizabeth. So also, when God remembers you, your sorrow will be turned to joy.

Therefore, if you desire a turnaround over that bugging challenge, you need God to remember you.

So what do you do?

  1. Become a covenant child of God.

God had a covenant with the Israelites that singled them out from the rest of the world. This covenant was enacted between God and Abraham and his descendents – Genesis 17:1-22

Now, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, believing Christians have become children of God. Our covenant with God is through Christ – Galatians 3:26, Romans 9:6-8.

So, whoever confesses with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in his heart that God has raised Him from the dead becomes a child of God – Romans 10:9-10

  1. Walk in righteousness

Anytime God remembers you it is either for good or for evil. When God remembers your iniquities, His judgment follows (Revelations 18:4-5) but if it is your righteousness that He remembers, His blessings will follow (Psalm 115:12). Therefore walk in righteous, that God may bless you and your household.

However, should you sin against God, quickly repent and ask Him to forgive you, so that the sin will not come up on the day God remembers you. For if you confess your sins, God is faithful and just to forgive you your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness – 1 John 1:9

  1. Cry out to God in prayer.

You need to go to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace at this time of need – Hebrews 4:16. Cry out to God to remember you, His covenant and His word concerning that issue. His covenant will He not break nor alter the words that have come out of His mouth. He said we should put Him in remembrance, so remind Him of His words, that they may be fulfilled in your life.

The Israelites cried out in Egypt by reason of the bondage and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – Exodus 2:23-24. And like Hannah cry out and pour your soul before God – 1 Samuel 1:10, 15.

  1. Believe that God will remember you

You must come before God’s throne in prayer believing that He will surely remember you. Faith is what will attract God to you. So believe that you are not going to cry in vain. Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6) and move Him to remember you.

Surely, it is faith that will make you hold on unto God, until the proof that the Lord has remembered you is evident.

The truth is that that challenge can be terminated and joy flooded into your life if you can get God’s attention.  There is nothing impossible with God and everything is answerable to God.  Therefore, cry out today, let God remember you and you will smile cheek to cheek.
