Are you hearing from God? Do you desire to hear from the Lord? This is a good desire but are you qualified to hear from Him? Many people desire to hear from Christ but are not close enough to hear Him even when He is speaking. This post emphasizes the need to love God if you are to hear from God.

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him” – John 14:21 (NKJV).

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God – 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (NKJV).

If you really want to hear from God you have to love Him, that is, obeying his commandments; otherwise, you will hear strange voices. And you will not know His commandments if you don’t know His words. Our Father can never speak anything contrary to His words. If it is not in line with God’s words, it’s not Him.

Many people claim they want to hear from God, but they are not ready to obey Him. The Lord won’t reveal things to you if you don’t love Him – 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. He has so many things to say to His people, unfortunately, very few are ready to hear.

When your heart is for God, you will naturally desire to please Him, and as you do so He will keep telling you other things He would want you to do for Him. He will speak to you through His words and as you get to know His written word, you will be able to recognize His spoken word when He speaks.

God’s sheep always hear Him when He calls (John 10:27). Sheep are known for obeying their shepherd. Obedience to Christ guarantee’s your access to His voice.  You are NOT to seek God’s voice, you are to obey Him and you will naturally hear His voice. And loving the Lord makes obedience to Him very easy.

Daniel and his friends for the love of God refused to eat the king’s food so they would keep His commandment, and they never lacked hearing from Him (Daniel 1:8-21). Daniel always heard from the Lord, deep things of God were revealed to him in many occasions (Daniel 1:19, Daniel 4:19-27, Daniel 5:13-29, Daniel 7, Daniel 8 to Daniel 12). Daniel was a lover of God, showed it in his obedience to Him, and he heard deep things from Him, including prophecies yet to be fulfilled. His enemies could not find anything evil to accuse him of except concerning the law of His God (Daniel 6:5)!

It is beautiful to hear from the Almighty, but that is not the main thing. The main thing is to love God, which is expressed in obeying His commandments. Seek first the kingdom of God and everything will be added to you (Matthew 6:33), including hearing from God!

Jesus is Lord!
