A Simple Revelation of the Winning Team

Hi, Jesus loves you.

Light or darkness, which one is your choice? These two choices or forces are constantly in a combat with one another for control over human beings. The good news is that the determining factor is actually the human beings. They choose who has control over them. This post is to help you identify the winning team to vote for.

Why are these forces always fighting for the souls of men? This is because men are in search of supernatural powers for protection, powers and wealth. They understand that they need a higher power than what humans can offer. Now, light and darkness are supernatural but one is greater than the other. Examining them closely, you will discover the winning team.

Let’s start by defining the two forces.

Light is something that makes things visible or affords illumination while darkness is absence or deficiency of light. In other words, darkness has no definition of its own but takes its definition in relation to light. Light connotes good, while darkness connotes evil, lack of knowledge or enlightenment and lack of insight.

An understanding of darkness should make anyone choose light but many people would rather go for darkness. Why? Darkness promises and offers so much with little or no effort. But what those people don’t realise is that NOTHING IS FREE! Initially, the cost may be very little but the subsequent cost is more than you can ever bear. Not everything that glitters is gold. The devil (thief) has no good in mind for his followers. His mission is to steal, kill and destroy whatever they have.

Darkness offers immediate gratification but eats up the victim afterwards. Darkness helps people not to be truthful to themselves to their own detriment.  It gives them a covering to hide their secrets. I will prove this to you by asking you a question. That thing you don’t want people to ever find out, because the revelation of it may destroy you or someone else, when or where do you do it – under light or in the dark?

Light on the other hand exposes everything done in the dark, no matter how long it had been. Shine light on anything hidden and everyone will see it. A flicker of light drives darkness away. Darkness, once light comes, must give way to light. Darkness wins in any area only because there is no introduction of light, no matter how small.

What are the supernatural beings behind light and darkness? God is behind light while Satan is behind darkness. God defeated Satan long time ago (Revelations 12:7-9, Colossians 2:15). He stripped him of all his powers and now Satan only has tricks, deception to play against human beings (2 Corinthians 11:3). Satan has no power over you except the one you give him by agreeing with him or succumbing to his tricks. God is of the winning team.

Unlike Satan, God promises and offers greater things but there are terms that you must fulfil for you to enjoy the blessings. For instance, God demands that you obey Him, walk by faith, walk in love towards others, and spend time reading the bible and praying, etc, if you want to exercise the authority and power He has given you. Unfortunately, many people want to by-pass these and still get the blessings. They actually want magic and not miracle.

The devil can support someone but abandon the person when trouble comes up (which must come up any time the devil is involved). God, on the other hand will never abandon you (Hebrews 13:5). He will see you through the storm and ensure you land safely (Isaiah 43:2). When God is for you, no one can be against you (Romans 8:31). In God, there is absolute peace and safety because God protects His own (Isaiah 26:3, Psalm 91:11).

And the wonderful thing about being part of God’s team (the winning team) is that you will keep winning all the time. Challenges will come but you will certainly overcome. Also, every challenge you overcome takes you to a higher place of victory and success. Click here to join the winning team

Let me conclude by sharing some scriptures with you. (Emphasis in italics are mine)

John 10:10 – The thief (devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I (Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)

James 4:7 – Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (KJV)

John 1:5 – And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (KJV)

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (KJV)

Isaiah 1:19 – If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. (KJV)

Romans 8:37 – Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him (Christ) that loved us. (KJV)

Colossians 2:10 – And ye are complete in him (Christ), which is the head of all principalities and powers (agents of darkness). (KJV)

Light and darkness, which team are you voting for?

  1. One of the reasons we battle with choices is that we are yet to emulate Christ who is our example. He took up his cross. How about us? We also need to take up our crosses daily. And today in church I understood that taking up one’s cross signifies sacrificial love, obedient suffering and serving people. Christ did all that and much more.

Yes, the path of light may be narrow but the final reward cannot be quantified.

    • Hi Ndidi,
Good to hear from you. Thanks for shedding light on the meaning of taking up one’s cross.
      God bless you.
