How you treat God

Hi, Jesus loves you

How do you treat God and how do you want God to treat you? People desire God to solve all their problems for them and make them very comfortable, but they forget that God also desires certain things from us too. Until you meet God’s requirements you will only enjoy occasional drops of mercies. This post emphasizes the need to treat God well in order to have Him treat you well.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” – James 4:8 (NKJV)

But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven – Matthew 10:33 (NKJV)

O! How we want God to make us rich, heal our bodies and do many other things for us but we neglect or forget what God also wants from us. God has certain needs too that need to be met and anyone who consistently meets these needs will certainly provoke God’s blessings and interventions consistently.

How you treat God is how He will treat you. God says that you should draw near to him and only then will He draw near to you. You have to take a step towards God to get God to take a step towards you. The good news is that God’s steps are much wider than yours. So, when you take a step towards God, He takes a bigger one towards you.

Also, in another vein, when you deny God before people, Christ will also deny you before God. And if Jesus denies you before God who will now intercede for you before God, because Christ is the one who intercedes for the saints in heaven (Romans 8:34)?

God has no problem at all blessing you. In fact, He desires to pour out blessings upon you – Malachi 3:10. God wishes above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers – 3 John 2. He knows that you have needs and He is more than ready to meet those needs when you meet the requirements – Matthew 6:33.

When you take God seriously, He will take you seriously but if you take Him for granted, you will not see good from Him. When you accord the Lord the respect and honour due to Him, He will also cause respect and honour to come to you. When you exalt Him, He will in turn exalt you before men.

You may ask why God won’t take the first step and give you your heart desire before you take your own step towards him? The truth is that God has already taken a giant step towards us by giving His only son Jesus (John 3:16) to die the most shameful death on the cross for our sins. When Jesus died on the cross, He said, “It is finished!” – John 19:30

God has done all things to make it possible for you to take the steps towards Him without stress. It is now left for you to do so before any other thing can come to you. Besides, out of His great mercies and love, you are still enjoying drops of blessings. Why not get the full showers of blessings? – Ezekiel 34:26

Now what are the things that gladden God’s heart? They include the following:

God because of His great love for you does not want you to perish, and so strongly desires that you receive His son Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. For God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16

  • Praise and Worship Him

This is one thing God cannot do for Himself and you are made to praise God in everything you do. Make praise and worship your lifestyle, for God inhabits the praises of His people – Psalm 22:3.

A praise and worship addict always enjoys God’s blessings, favour and interventions. When Paul and Silas praised the Lord in prison, God came down to receive the praises and in the process loosened their chains – Acts 16:25-26.

  • Seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness

God desires that you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and then all the things you desire and more will be added unto you – Matthew 6:33. Give your time, energy and money for the things/work of God. Allow God to use you in any way He chooses and you will see how He will lavish His own resources on you.

  • Win souls for Christ

This the heart beat of God. He wants all men reconciled back to Him – 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. The last command Jesus gave His disciples was that they should go and preach the gospel of Christ so that men may be saved – Mark 16:15-16.

The scripture says in Proverbs 11:30 that he that wins souls is wise. And he that goes forth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him – Psalm 126:6

God owes no man. He is a faithful God and a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him – Hebrews 11:6. You can’t serve God whole-heartedly and be equated with him that serves Him not. The Lord is not an unjust God; for every labor in the His vineyard, there is profit – Proverbs 14:23. How you treat God and His things is how He will treat you and your things.

If you will not play with God but take His words seriously, He will soon announce you to your world. Those who serve God diligently, stand before kings and not before mean men – Proverbs 22:29
