God blessesw

Hi, Jesus loves you.

Do you want God to bless you financially? Or are you wondering why you are not prospering the way you want to prosper? God wants to bless you but He has His own reasons for blessing people, which if you agree to them you will be in a better position to be prospered by Him. This post gives the reasons why God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His children.

Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually,

“Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” – Psalm 35:27 (NKJV)

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)

I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing – Genesis 12:2 (NKJV)

Poverty is not of God! God who created all things cannot be associated with lack. It is a curse that came with the fall of man. When God created Adam and Eve, He put them in a garden, full of abundance. Adam didn’t need to toil until he was banished from the garden: a result of eating the forbidden fruit. Therefore God has no delight in His children lacking anything; instead He takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servants – Psalm 35:27

The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him – 2 Chronicles 16:9. And He, more than a man will for you, wishes above all things that you prosper and be in health even as you soul prospers – 3 John 2.

God is a God of purpose, whatever He does has a reason for it. Even so, God has a purpose for blessing His people financially.

Reasons why God blesses financially

  1. To show His love

You can give without loving but you can’t love and not give. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16. And in Romans 8: 32, God tells us that if He didn’t spare His Son Jesus but gave Him for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things, including wealth and riches.

God blesses us to shower His love on us. No wealthy father who loves His children leaves them in lack and want, so also our Father who loves you and is the wealthiest will not leave you in lack and want. Whatever God does is out of His love for you.

  1. To confirm His covenant

God gives you power to make wealth in order to confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) – Deuteronomy 8:18. In Genesis 12:2-3, God promised Abraham that He was going to make him a great nation and that through him all the families of the earth would be blessed. God gave him Isaac to start off the great nation and fulfil the covenant, and blessed him with great wealth to perpetuate the covenant from generation to generation.

Through Christ, Abraham became the father of all Christian believers – Galatians 3:14. Therefore, all Christians are now qualified to partake of the blessings of this covenant between God and Abraham. So, God is obligated to confirm this covenant in your life as a Christian believer; through Abraham you are to be blessed because of your connection with Christ.

  1. For His kingdom work

In Haggai 1:4-10, the people didn’t prosper because they left the house of God in ruins, they left the work of God on done; so the heavens over them withheld its dew and the earth didn’t bring forth fruit for them. That means when God prospers you He expects you to use part of it for His kingdom work. You are to use it to spread the gospel and make the name of Jesus a household name, use it to make it possible for souls to be won into the kingdom of God.

Soul winning is the passion of God, for it is not His will that any should perish – 2 Peter 3:9. Therefore when God blesses you He expects you to use part of it to fulfil His heart desire, which is that all men be saved – 1 Timothy 2:4.

  1. For you to be a blessing –

The Lord also blesses you to be a blessing – Genesis 12:2. God charged the rich in 1 Timothy 6:18 that they should

You lend to God when you give to the poor and God pays back what you give – Proverbs 19:17. And when God is paying back you can be assured that the premium He would pay will be according to His size, which will be beyond your imagination. Therefore, if it is in your heart to be a blessing then you are a candidate for God’s blessings.

  1. To meet your needs

Another solid reason why God blesses is to supply all your needs and that is according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19), and you know that He is abundantly rich in glory. The pipe that carries cold water is first cooled before the receiver, so also before you can be a blessing you have to be blessed first.

God expects you to give from what you have and not from what you don’t have – 2 Corinthians 8:12-13. He doesn’t want you to ease others and then become burdened yourself, NO. He wants to grant you your heart desires too – Psalm 37:4

  1. To differentiate His children from others

In Malachi 3:14-18, God stated that He was going to make a clear demarcation between the righteous and the unrighteous, between those that serve Him and those that do not serve Him. And wealth is one of the instruments He would use. He would spare His own from the economic crunch upon the world. He will publicly recognize and openly declare them as His jewels.

Isaac sowed in the famine and reaped hundred-fold while others were running away from the land because God blessed him – Genesis 26:12. God still does it today; Christian believers shine in places where others are swallowed up. When God blesses and shines on you, you will possess the gates of your enemies – Genesis 22:17.

  1. For His glory

It is to God’s glory that you prosper. Poverty does not bring glory to God. This is why God adds financial blessings to His blessings upon an individual. God wants to bless you to the point that others will tremble and glorify Him when they hear and see the kind of prosperity God has given you – Jeremiah 33:9. Jesus said in John 14:13 that

When God blessed Solomon with wisdom He added riches to it. And when the Queen of Sheba came and saw the wisdom and prosperity of Solomon, there was no more spirit in her. She had no choice but to glorify God who made Solomon King and gave him such wisdom and wealth – 1 Kings 10:4-9. Your prosperity brings glory to God.

Obviously, God is out to bless those who are called by His name according to His purpose. Therefore align your heart and motives in line with God’s plan and purpose so that you will be a partaker of the blessings of Abraham.
