Hi, Jesus loves you.

Have you given up? Bad situations are real, but what’s more real is that it is not meant to consume you! Whatever situation you may be in now that is gloomy, rejoice for the end of the tunnel is at the corner and it opens to a bright and mouth-watering future. This post is emphasizing the need for you to swim over every situation for your better tomorrow.

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge those who are carried away captive from Judah, whom I have sent out of this place for their own good, into the land of the Chaldeans. For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up – Jeremiah 24:4-6 (NKJV)

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose – Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

God was saying to the children of Israel in Jeremiah 24:1-10, that it was better to go as captives from Judah than to remain in Judah. Captivity is seen as a bad situation, but in that case it was the best route for their preservation and wellbeing.

The fact and the truth

It is a fact that as long as you are on earth, challenges will come. Sometimes, they may come like a flood, valley of the shadow of death, wilderness or an insurmountable mountain. The intensity of challenge may be so overwhelming that you may be tempted to wonder where God is and why He abandoned you.

However, the truth is that God forever remains in heaven above all situations (Ephesians 1:20-21) and that He is very much with you (Hebrews 13:5). Also, He has ordained for you to come out victorious (1 John 5:4).

Some bad situations are allowed by God because it is the best route for your deliverance or blessing to come to you. An understanding of this will help you to hold unto God till the end. It will help you not to open the door for the enemy to scatter God’s plan through your thoughts, words or actions. God prophesied through Joseph that his family members were going to bow to him. It came to pass through a series of challenges, each one worse than the previous, till he found himself in the palace as the governor of Egypt, and his brothers came bowing to him – Genesis 37-42.

For every true child of God

Not all bad situations are actually bad. As a true child of God, who has Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Saviour and is obedient to God’s word, all things work together for your good. Whatever stones the enemy may be throwing at you, God will turn them into stepping-stones to higher grounds for you. No flood is meant to drown you, for when the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of God will raise a standard against it (Isaiah 59:19). In such bad situations, God is actually carrying you. At such times you have a host of angels guarding and watching over you, and if God is to open your spiritual eyes you would see them in their positions (2 Kings 6:16-17).

God’s expectation

Nevertheless, for God to bring His word to pass for you in that situation, you must give Him thanks in that situation.  The Lord expects you to give Him thanks in all things, for it is the will of God concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Giving thanks in such bad situations shows that you believe He is with you and He can do something about it. He expects you to have faith in Him. Your faith in the Lord is what gives God license to work in your situation, without it, he can’t help you. This is because only one force can operate in your life per time: God or the enemy. Faith attracts God while lack of faith or fear attracts the enemy.

Your position for victory

No matter the challenge, it is time for you to run deeper into God. It’s not a time to despair, murmur, complain or take offence in God – that is exactly what the enemy wants you to do. Don’t oblige him; show him that you are wiser. Study the word more and pray the word more. As long as your peace is intact, your faith will not waver and you will come out victorious. God says “be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). The enemy can’t stand a man at peace! He can’t operate where there is no fear or anxiety.

Philippians 4:6-7, summarizes your rightful position for victory over bad situations as thus, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (NKJV).

When you are faced with bad situations, always remember Joseph’s story. As Joseph went from bad to worse, from worse to worst, he never let go of his faith in God, nor sinned against Him. And God remained with him all through his ordeal.

Conclusion

No bad situation is ever sweet, but if you will endure till the end, taking your rightful position for victory, no matter how long it takes, you will soon be enjoying the sweet end. Don’t count the days, months or years of affliction as the case may be, rather count on God’s faithfulness. GOD NEVER FAILS (1 John 4:8, 1 Corinthians 13:8).
