It’s my prayer this year that God will lift you to a level you’ve never imagined. Promotion is of God and He desires all His children to be partakers of the same. But the challenge is that many people are not enjoying divine lifting as they should, and when some people do they have difficulties in sustaining it. So, what is the secret of divine lifting that lasts for a lifetime? This post gives the fundamental components that will make it possible.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father – Philippians 2:5-11 (NKJV)
Promotion comes from nowhere else but from God (Psalm 75:6-7). For every lifting you got it came from God. He orchestrated it and ensured it came to pass. Do you doubt it? Ask those who have not been promoted for a long time. God’s favour upon a man delivers His blessings on him.
But why is it that many lack this favour of God upon their lives? It is because they lack the fundamental Ingredients for divine lifting! And what are these ingredients? Let’s consider what made God to highly exalt Jesus and give Him a name above every name.
- No reputation
You need to empty yourself totally of whatever you have or acquired before God. It is important to have a good reputation but you must not allow it to hinder your progress. Before God you must remain nobody. You need to strip yourself of all privileges and rightful dignity to do whatever assignment given to you per time. Daniel was one of the princes from Israel sent to Babylon as a slave. But he made himself of no reputation and he enjoyed a lasting divine lifting which other princes like him did not enjoy.
A bondservant is a person bound to service without wages, (Dictionary.com). This is the position or attitude you need to assume if God is to keep lifting you up. What to get in return should not be number one priority for your services, rather you should be contribution minded. Those who have wages as their number one priority are not efficient, effective, creative, innovative and reliable, etc at work. They lack qualities of a candidate for promotion.
This is another vital fundamental component for divine lifting. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted, (Matthew 23:12). The humble enjoys wisdom, grace or favour and guidance from the Lord, (Proverbs 11:2, 3:34, Psalm 25:9). You need the above to succeed in life and to be considered for promotion. The Lord lifts the humble and teaches him His way, (Psalm 147:6, Psalm 25:9). Humility is the clothing that you need not only to sustain your present lifting but also to enjoy further speedy promotions.
Our Lord Jesus Christ obeyed even unto the death of the cross, which was the most shameful death of their time and God exalted Him. Obedience is a fast way of provoking God’s favour upon your life. Abraham obeyed God’s instructions and God’s sworn blessings came on him and his descendants, Genesis 12:1-4. When you obey God even when it is not convenient and it seems unreasonable, you position yourself for divine lifting. One thing is sure, the Lord who knows the end from the beginning, will never ask you to do what you cannot do and what will not be beneficial to you at the end.
In conclusion, when you embrace the above fundamental components divine promotions that will last your lifetime will be your portion. Like Jesus Christ, Daniel, Moses, Abraham and many others, God will exalt you and release His blessings upon your life.
Jesus is Lord!
Grace and peace of God be unto you.
