Glimpse of your future

Hi Jesus loves you.

Have you ever wished you knew the end of a thing before you even start it? The end picture of a thing determines your attitude, passion and your availability for it. A glimpse of your future facilitates the fulfillment of it. It surely will make a difference in your way of life. This post emphasizes the need for you to have a glimpse of your tomorrow.

And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever – Genesis 13:14-15 (NKJV)

Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God… – John 21:18-19 (NKJV)

Many times you may have woken up and wondered what you are doing on earth and how long you would continue like that. But you know deep inside you that you have more to offer and more to get from this life. And sometimes you are frustrated because of it. All you need is a glimpse of your future!

A glimpse of your tomorrow will make a difference in your approach to life: your energy will be boosted up for each day, your thinking cap will be up high and you will live each day with a purpose. And your movements will not be aimless anymore but fully targeted. You will live a purposeful life, like God.

God is a God of purpose. He never does or allows anything without having a definite reason for it. His actions are ever well calculated, borne out of love and fully targeted. His word never goes forth out of His mouth and returns to Him void, without accomplishing what He pleases. It surely prospers in the very thing for which He sent it – Isaiah 55:11

And since God made you, He has a purpose for making you. A glimpse of this purpose will change your life for the better. His thoughts and plans for you are for your welfare, peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope – Jeremiah 29:11

So, ask God for a glimpse of your future. God showed Abraham a glimpse of his future (to give his descendants the Promised Land) and that affected the steps he took afterwards. For example when he was giving instructions on how to get a wife for Isaac, he ordered his servant never to take Isaac back to his father’s land if the woman refuses to follow him – Genesis 24:5-6.

Joseph was another man who had glimpse of his future and that made a difference in his life. He had a dream that one day his family members would bow to him. This picture of his future energized and motivated him even when he had no reason to be motivated. It made him to work harder even when the fulfillment of the dream was far-fetched from him. The joy within him was beyond understanding, he was never down nor frustrated. He walked through with the right attitude into the fulfillment of his dream.

Also, Peter saw his future as an old man as Christ painted the picture for him – John 21:18-19. I believe that must have strengthened him all through the time he was persecuted, including the time when he was jailed to be killed after the Passover – Acts 12:1-19. He preached the gospel with all zeal knowing that before his enemies could do anything to him he would have finished his assignment as an old man. He was bold and fearless.

Finally, Jesus Christ, our perfect example, also had a glimpse of His tomorrow. He, for the joy of the souls that would be won back to God that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame and died the most shameful death of His time – Hebrews 12:2. And today, we are results of His bold steps towards fulfilling the purpose of God for Him.

Therefore, cry out to God for a picture of your future. It is the solution to your uncertainty in life. When you are in the dark about your future, anything will look like it and all manner of thoughts and suggestions of what it can be will overwhelm you. Only God can tell you the truth about your tomorrow because He made you and He is the Alpha and Omega. Call on Him and end your frustrations in life today.
