Hi, Jesus loves you

Do you know that Christians will be held responsible for the state of their nations, whether good or bad? Man was given dominion to subdue the earth, which he lost after the fall of Adam, but was restored back through Jesus Christ and now in the hands of believing Christians. The exercise of this dominion or lack of its exercise determines the happenings around us. This post emphasizes the position of Christians in the affairs of their nations.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land – 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace – Jeremiah 29:7 (NKJV)

How much have you contributed to the state of your nation? Many Christians unfortunately join the world to criticize their leaders, they talk and talk and do not exercise their dominion over the situations on ground. Some have even worsened the situation by the words of their mouth – you shall have what you say – Mark 11:23.

Some Christians are even waiting on God to do something about the situations, while God is waiting on them to do something about them. The power and authority over circumstances have been handed over to the Christians for them to establish the will of God upon their nations.

God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that if His people who are called by His name will humble themselves, seek Him in prayer, and turn from their wicked ways, He would hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land. God is waiting on the Christians to repent and pray for His intervention in their nations. He doesn’t need the whole nation to do that, he needs just His children. The question is, are you praying?

Also, God expects you as a foreigner in a nation to pray for the peace of that nation if you are to enjoy peace in it (Jeremiah 29:7). Furthermore, in 1 Timothy 2:1-3, the Lord admonished Christians to pray for those in authority so they can live a peaceable life, and He said it is good and acceptable in His sight.

The above scriptures make it clear that praying for your nation and leaders releases God’s blessing, intervention and peace on the land.

What are you to do?

  • Humble yourself

As simple as it may seem, many Christians have problem with humbling themselves. Put aside your knowledge, the so-called facts on ground, your success and achievements, whatever that will hinder you from acknowledging that Jesus Christ is THE solution to the challenges in the nation. Come to God, knowing that He is Alpha and Omega and be ready to accept His instruction as the final word to be obeyed (Deuteronomy 28:1).

  • Pray and seek God’s face

Prayer is a powerful weapon of warfare, it moves mountains and turns impossibility to possibility (James 5:17-18). When you pray and seek God’s face in faith, you are saying “Father, come and help, you alone have the solution.” And when you seek the Lord, you will find Him (Matthew 7:7-8)

  • Turn from your wicked ways

You are to turn from any act of disobedience if you want God to hear you; for God will not hear you if you have iniquity in your life (Psalm 66:18). Even the enemy will accuse you before God (Revelation 12:10) that you are not worthy to be heard by God.

What will happen afterwards?

God will hear from heaven, forgive your sins and heal the land. When you pray according to the word of God, God hears and releases answers to you (1 John 5:14-15). When Elijah prayed for rain, God heard and released rain upon the land (James 5:17-18). When Jesus prayed, five loaves fed multitude (Matthew 14:13-21) and Lazarus came back to life (John 11). Peter prayed and the lame man walked (Acts 3:1-10). Also, the Israelites prayed and God delivered them from the bondage in Egypt (Exodus 3:7-10)

Conclusion

When you pray God will heal your nation. And don’t quit praying until you see the answer to your prayers in manifestation (Isaiah 62:7). Also, be assured that even if you are the only one praying, God will still hear from heaven and heal your land (Ezekiel 22:29-30). Moses alone interceded for Israel and God didn’t destroy them (Exodus 32:7-14). Abraham alone stood in the gap for Sodom and Gomorrah and God heard; unfortunately righteous men were not up to ten in the cities for God to spare them (Genesis 18:16-33). Therefore start today to pray and seek God’s face on behalf of your nation, and God will heal your land.
