Dance unto God

Hi, Jesus loves you.

Are you crying or shouting over the challenges in your life? If you are, how far have you gone in solving them? One thing I am sure of by experience is that crying over challenges never gets it solved. But there is a way to get it solved: in a dance! This post tells you how to win a battle by dancing. Come along with me.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation (Psalm 149:3-4, NKJV, emphasis mine)

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord. (Psalm 149:6-9, NKJV)

The storms of life will surely come, but how you respond to it is what really matters. There are times; you will feel that you don’t know what else to do; everything seems to be crowding you and wanting to choke you. The wisest thing to do at such a time is to get up and shout “Halleluiah!” And start digging it in a dance unto God.

Sing praises unto God from your heart and dance vigorously.

Why praise in a dance?

This is an act of your faith in God who is King of kings and is above all. In a praise-dance you hand over your battle to God. You are saying, “God I can’t handle this, I can’t defeat them but you can handle and have defeated these, (John 16:33)” Your fight is not a physical fight but a spiritual one (Ephesians 6:12) and so requires a spiritual approach. A praise-dance is a spiritual weapon for warfare. The enemy is powerless when you engage it because it gets God involved and who can stand our God!

What would Singing and dancing do for you? Psalm 149:3-9

  • Salvation from that challenge

When you please God with your praises and dance, God will beautify you with salvation. He will deliver you from that challenge, (Psalm 34:19)

  • Vengeance

Whatever agent or force behind the challenge receives vengeance from God, (Romans 12:19)

  • Punishment

Not only will God avenge for you, He will punish them that didn’t know Him (2 Thessalonians 1:8) and wasn’t afraid to afflict you, His beloved.

  • Imprisonment

Just like your enemy wanted you bound with that challenge, God will also bind them and they will feel the pain you felt (Proverbs 26:27)

  • Judgment

There is judgment already written against the wicked. Your praise and dance will enact it upon your afflicters, (Psalm 37:20)

Why would God do the above?

Praise is one thing God cannot give Himself, and so whoever praises God gives Him His food and will be greatly rewarded. God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3) and when He comes, He comes to do your will, according to His word, even as you have done His will.

Examples

King David is a perfect example. He praised God seven times in a day (Psalm 119:164). In-fact from his psalms, one can conclude that praising God was his lifestyle. And when they brought the ark into Judah, David (though the King of Israel) so danced, leaping before God that his wife Michal despised him (2 Samuel 6:16). David knew the secret of victory and permanently engaged it and he never lost a battle. I believe his praise life must have contributed to God calling him “a man after His heart”.

When Michal confronted him because of his dance, he said unto her that it was before the Lord, who chose him before her father that he danced and that he would still be viler praising his God (2 Samuel 6:20-22).

Also, King Jehoshaphat and the people of Israel engaged the weapon of praise and God sent ambushment against their enemies and they were all smitten, (2 Chronicles 20:20-24). They didn’t fight any battle except in their praise-dance. God fought for them and gave them great victory and spoils.

Furthermore, some years back, my son was challenged in his health. We went to the hospital, obtained some medication and were administering it to him, but he didn’t get better. One of the nights, I and my husband engaged in this praise-dance warfare vigorously. By the time we did this for like an hour, we knew it was settled and that was the end of the sickness. My son was perfectly well.

Recently, I heard a testimony in church where a couple’s child died, instead of crying and wailing, they engaged this same weapon for an hour, thirty minutes and the child jacked back to life. Praise God!

Conclusion

Whatever is not impossible with God is not impossible with praise-dance. When you praise God in a dance, you provoke God to do what He only can do and that includes your own thing. Therefore, make praise dance a lifestyle and you will see how God will be intervening in your affairs according to His will. Halleluiah!
