Securer of life and destinyHi, Jesus loves you

Are you in a battle that you seem to be losing? Or do you wonder whether that big dream of yours will ever come to fruition? I have good news for you: your life and destiny can be secured through prayers. This article explains why prayer is a vital tool in realizing your heart desires.

Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak – Matthew 26:40-41(NKJV)

For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries – 1 Corinthians 16:9 (NKJV)

God is ever bringing opportunities your way but the enemy will always oppose it. So your victory lies in your ability to overcome his oppositions. And prayer is a major tool to use in fighting the enemy. Remember you do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places – Ephesians 6:12. It is a spiritual battle and must be fought spiritually along side with your physical efforts.

The more prayerful you are, the more victorious you become and your life and destiny will be secured.

When you pray, you acknowledge your limitations as man and the un-limitedness of God Almighty. Also, you acknowledge how little your opposition is before God and how easy it is for God to clear the obstacles on your way.

In prayer, you lay down your abilities and engage God’s supreme abilities. When you pray, you surrender the challenges to God and take your rest. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 (AMP) “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

Whatever the issue maybe, whether spiritual, physical, emotional or otherwise, you will only overcome when you watch and pray. Prayer is not something you should do only when you have challenges but always. Paul said we should pray without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:17. This is because when you do so, you will not only overcome oppositions that come your way but also prevent much opposition from coming your way.

Watching and praying enables you not to fall into temptations of life. No matter how determined you may be, when the enemy launches his attack you won’t be able to escape in your strength. You need divine help because it is not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of the Lord, Zechariah 4:6. On your own you can do nothing, John 15:5.

Praying is a personal responsibility. Nobody can prepare for you the way you will pray for yourself. Shy away from it and you’ll shy away from your victories. What you don’t pray for you will never realize, James 4:2. Your life and destiny depend on you going on your knees and praying.

Jesus came to earth as son of God but He very much knew that for Him to fulfill His destiny on earth, He must watch and pray. Many times He separated Himself to pray, sometimes He prayed all night, Luke 6:12. Though, He was very busy, He never allowed that to stop Him from praying. He understood that in the flesh, He was helpless without prayers. In fact, He started off His ministry fully with forty days of prayer and fasting.

Now, if Jesus needed to pray to fulfill His destiny on earth, we certainly need it more! Therefore gird up your loins and pray, and your life and destiny will be secured.

How is prayer connected to your victory in life?
