How much of God’s word have you put inside of you today? The amount of rainfall that the earth receives determines how watered it will be and its ability to bear fruits. The ground that receives enough rainfall is sure to produce abundantly. This post is aimed at charging you to drink more of the word of God for your desired turnaround.

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it – Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV).

Droplets of the word of the Lord cannot be compared with the rain of it in any way. The rain of God’s word makes a great difference in the pursuit of your desired turnaround. The more of the word of God within you the more you build your faith, and the just shall live by faith. Therefore, go for more of the word.

The Almighty God is not a careless talker; every word that comes out of His mouth is for a purpose and is well targeted. When He speaks, He sends His word on an errand. The word is not permitted to return to Him until it accomplishes what He pleases and prospers in the thing for which He sent it. It must return to give a pleasing account, with the Lord’s desired results.

Therefore, next time you hear the word of God, know that it is on an errand and it must not return void. The question is, “will you receive it for yourself and/or be a channel through which God will send it to its target?” Who are the targets? Anyone that receives the word is a target and will get its blessings; for as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become sons of God (John 1:12).

THE POTENCY OF THE RAIN OF GOD’S WORD

The word of the Lord is never impotent. The word of God is quick and powerful, able to handle all impossible cases and discern the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

1. It builds up your faith

Faith comes by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). The rain of God’s word is what you need to build up your faith in the Lord and His word. One dose or occasional doses will not build up the faith that will pull down that mountain before you or in your life.

2. It has the power to change or improve a situation

Just as the rain is able to water the earth and make it to bring forth and bud, so also the word of the Almighty has the power to change or improve any situation in your life. The world was created and is maintained by the word of the Lord; therefore, everything within this world, including that challenge in your life, is subject to the word of the Creator. So, act on God’s word for your desired change or improvement.

3. It never misses its target

God’s word must prosper in the thing for which the Lord sent it. I want you to have a good picture of this – the word can’t go back to God void, it must accomplish what He pleases! So, you either position yourself by faith to become one of the targets or you don’t and miss being one of the targets. For example, when the Lord’s word on fruitfulness of the body is released, anyone who receives it by faith will be among those who will soon be joyful parents of children. It is to everyone according to his faith (Matthew 9:29).

4. It makes you a channel of blessing

You can also choose to be the earth that will give seed to the sower and bread to the eater. You receive the rain of the word, allow it to make you bring forth and bud, and then distribute to people according to their needs. This can be in form imparting knowledge of the word (seeds) or giving material blessings (bread) to others. You are empowered to teach others what you have learned so that they can put it to work and get bountiful results, and also to meet the physical needs of others.

THE PLACE OF FAITH IN THE SENT WORD OF GOD

The potency of God’s word will not profit you if you don’t mix the sent word with faith (Hebrews 4:2). If the ground doesn’t receive the rainfall, like a rocky ground, it will miss the opportunity to be watered and it will not bring forth. The rain water will flow down to where it will be received. The earth opening its mouth to drink of the rainfall can be likened to you mixing the sent word with faith. Faith is simply acting on God’s word. When you receive the sent word and act on it, you get your desired turnaround. Acting on God’s word is believing that it would be unto you as God had said, and holding unto it till it is physically manifested in your life.

Abraham was said to have acted in faith because he received God’s word to him that he would be a father of many nations and acted on it. He didn’t consider the deadness of his body or Sarah’s womb, but counted God faithful to perform that which He had said (Romans 4:17-21). The Lord did to him as he believed and gave him Isaac. Do likewise and that impossible case will be turned to a testimony.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO NOW?

So, men and brethren, I encourage you to

i. Go for the rain of God’s word. Like Jeremiah, eat the word of God (Jeremiah 15:16), it is food to your spirit. Give yourself to studying the scriptures, meditate on them daily and saturate yourself with them, for it is life to those that find them and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22).

ii. Ask God to send His word concerning the issues in your life to you. He will send it as you study the word or as you listen to teachings by anointed men and women of God. Be sensitive to catch it when it comes.

iii. Receive it by faith and expect it to be fulfilled in your life. Don’t look at the circumstances surrounding those issues, rather focus on the sent word and it will be fulfilled in your life. Note that any time you move your focus from the word of God, you will start sinking. So, don’t yield to any form of doubt or the temptation to look away from the word (Matthew 14:28-31). God’s word truly is never impotent.

So, what do you think of God’s word?

Jesus is Lord!
