A decision to implement

Hi, Jesus loves you.

What decisions have you made for this year? Which ones must you implement? What you will encounter tomorrow is a result of the decisions you make and implement today. Every wise step gives rise to joy in future and foolish step breeds regrets. This post tells you one major decision you need to make and implement this year if you are to enjoy this year and experience success and glory.

That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:3-7, NKJV)

What can that decision be you may ask?

It is to deepen your fellowship with God at the early days of this year. How deep you go will determine the victories you enjoy for the rest of the year. You don’t know your tomorrow outside what the word of God says, but God does, for He is the Alpha and the Omega; the beginning and the ending. He has the secret and wisdom for your righteousness, success, peace and joy. You will only have access to them if you will allow Him to reveal them to you, and the channel is through fellowship.

How do you know you are truly fellowshipping with God?

You will walk in the light and not in darkness, and you will fellowship with brethren (1 John 1:3-7). This means to live according to the word of God, obeying his every instruction.

God is not selfish

God has not asked you to seek Him in vain (Isaiah 45:19). He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). When you seek Him with your heart, God says you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). And then, God in Proverbs 8:17, King James Version, says that those who seek Him early shall find Him.

That’s why you should seek Him at the beginning of this year so that you wouldn’t go through this year alone. Now, what will you gain fellowshipping with God? Here you are:

Benefits of fellowshipping with God

  • To plead your case (Isaiah 41:21)

When you get into God’s presence through praise, you have the opportunity to plead your case according to God’s word. You reason with God (Isaiah 1:8), bringing your strong reasons (Isaiah 41:21) and like Lot (Genesis 19:18-22) and Abraham (Genesis 18:1-33) get God to meet you at least half way if not all the way.

  • To have peace of mind (Psalm 94:19)

God comforts you no matter the anxiety when you fellowship with Him. You can never enter into God’s presence and come out the same. God’s peace will certainly rub off on you.

  • Wisdom for the day (Daniel 1:17)

God, the only wise God (Jude 25), will give you the wisdom you need to succeed this year when and where you need it. He said you should ask Him if you lack wisdom (James 1:5) and He will give you just like He gave Daniel, and you ask as you fellowship with God.

  • Favour galore (Genesis 39:21)

Lasting favour is from God. He encompasses the righteous with favour as with a shield (Psalm 5:12). Like Joseph, the favour of God will follow you wherever you go.

  • Fellowship with brethren (1 John 1:3, 5-7)

It is easier to fellowship with brethren when you normally fellowship with God. The love God has for His children will be within you and you will love them even as Christ does. And because God loves being with His people, you will also love to be with God’s people.

  • Divine interventions (Daniel 6)

Fellowship with God paid off for Daniel when he was thrown into the lion’s den (Daniel 6). God intervened and shut the lions’ mouths. And when Daniel’s enemies were thrown in (people who were not fellowshipping with God), the lions’ mouths were opened to enjoy their feast.

  • Overcome temptations (Matthew 26:41)

When fellowshipping with God becomes your life style, it becomes almost impossible to fall into temptation. They will surely come (Luke 17:1) but you will overcome them all. God will make a way of escape for you (1 Corinthians 10:13)

  • Honour and glory

There is honour and glory that comes only from God (John 5:44, 2 Corinthians 3:18), which even your enemies cannot deny. You fellowship with God in the secret, but God rewards in the open (Matthew 6:6)

  • Healing and total health (2 Kings 20:1-11)

King Hezekiah enjoyed healing when he was supposed to die because he had access to God through fellowship. He went to God and pleaded his case and God gave him fifteen more years to live and promised to deliver Israel from their enemies.

Do you still need more encouragement to fellowship with God? The choice is yours. But one thing is sure, if there is anybody to be with this year, it has to be Jesus. He doesn’t fail neither will He disappoint you. Only come unto Him all you that are heavy laden and He will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-29). Rest shall be your portion this year in Jesus name.
