  1. Hi Ngozi,
As a personal trainer, Im always talking to people about maximizing their performance and I saw you wrote about ‘Fasting and Praying.’
I must say ‘I liked it’ however, fasting is one of the MOST confronting actions a person from a first world country can do.. We’re so used to living life to meet our own needs.
Fasting/self denial shines a very uncomfortable spot light on the ‘consumer society’ we live in.
When you do it, you realize just how much time you spend looking for some way to just fill MY OWN stomach.
With a emphasis on ‘MY OWN/ME’, our consumer society has got us desiring/focusing on the resources money can buy for ourselves/myself.
Its very subtle, but in never saying ‘No’ to ourselves we forget about (and loose) that connection to our fellow human beings,,,, and God.
    Thoughts?

    1. God bless you Tim. Thanks for your comment. Everyone needs to fast really no matter your location. Truly, it may not be easy for the people from a first world country, but thank God, His grace is sufficient.
