How powerful is the Lord God to you? What is He to you? How you know and see God determines how much you will believe and trust in Him. God is the “I AM THAT I AM” (Exodus 3:14). This post tells you that God is the supreme God and you should fear Him.

He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]–yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end – Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMP).

I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him. That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been; And God requires an account of what is past – Ecclesiastes 3:14-15 (NKJV).

Scientists have tried to unravel all that God created, to explain creation and give reasons and processes for everything God created. However, they can only go to the level for which God allows them; the rest they cook up stories and expect people to believe them. Interestingly, or should I say unfortunately, some people believe their stories.

Ecclesiastes 3:10-11 make it clear that the labour of men is the task that God gave men to occupy themselves with, and they can never unravel God’s plan or work from the beginning to the end. Nothing can be added or removed from what God has done; and nothing is new on earth, everything came from what has been (Ecclesiastes 3:14-15). This is so that men should fear before God.

But what do you see: many people have no fear of God, instead they fear men and the devil that manifests himself in different forms. People take the mercies and grace of God available through Christ (Ephesians 2:7-8) for granted. They forget that though He is love (1 John 4:8), He also is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29).

The word of God expressly reveals the supremacy of God, who He is and what He is capable of doing. He is LORD over all! He is to be reverenced by men. The people who reverence God experience His goodness and mercy upon their lives (Psalm 23:1, 6). They enjoy the manifestation of the power of God and the blessings which He releases upon them that fear Him.

The word of God is full of the acts and manifestations of God, which when meditated on will boost your faith and trust in the Lord. It will terminate all your fears and spur you to reach out for greater heights. You will see no mountains on your way again, rather you will see obstacles as stepping stones to higher grounds because you know that if God is for you, no one can be against you (Romans 8:31).

God, with outstretched arm and great signs and wonders, delivered the Israelites from Egypt (Deuteronomy 26:8). He delivered the three Hebrew boys from the burning fiery furnace (Daniel 3) and Daniel from the lion’s den (Daniel 6). He healed many sick people (Mark 1:34) and raised many from the dead (Matthew 11:5). On the other hand, He made Nebuchadnezzar to live like an animal for a period of time and restored him back as the king when he learnt to fear God and to give glory to Him (Daniel 4). He also caused worms to eat up King Herod when he accepted the glory that should have gone to God (Acts 12:20-24).

God has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Everyone who goes for the revelation of the Lord in his or her life never goes unrevealed to the world. It is wisdom to acknowledge the supremacy of God and fear Him. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), so get wisdom and in all your getting get understanding (Proverbs 4:7).

Jesus is Lord!
