Come And Talk To Me

Hi, Jesus loves you.

How will you feel if your son sends people to you every time on his behalf to get an advice, money or help? No parent will be happy if his child can’t come to him freely and make requests or seek for advice.  When there is communication gap, a close relationship will not be in view. Interestingly, like any other father, God desires to have a perfect relationship with His children. He says, “come and talk to Me yourself”.

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken – Isaiah 1:18-20 (NKJV)

Many people want their pastors or someone they think is religious to talk to God on their behalf. Some would rather read all manner of books or materials, or even go to different places to get answers to bugging questions or challenges, than to go to God. Yet, God is reaching out to them saying, “come and talk to me!”

What is stopping you from going to God in prayer with those issues? He who made ears can hear and He who made mouth can talk. The Lord wants you to come and reason with Him. If it is sin, He says you should come all the same, that the sin aspect will be taken care of. If you say no time is available, I will say that if you can make out time to eat, then you can make out time to talk to your Father.

You are the one who will ultimately benefit most. You get to reason with the only wise God, the creator of the whole universe, the beginning and the end, the first and the last, the unchangeable changer, the all-knowing God, the Prince of peace, the great physician, the everlasting Father and the I AM THAT I AM. God has the solution to that issue. If only you will humble yourself and ask Him, the problem will be solved.

Is it wrong to ask someone to pray for you? No, not all but it is not the best now that Christ has come, died and risen again, and is seated at the right hand of God. However, if it is an agreement prayer which is very powerful, it is good because, if two of you agree on earth as touching anything that you will ask, it will be done for you by God who is in heaven – Matthew 18:19.

God wants you to come yourself and talk to Him, not to murmur or complain. He desires to fellowship with you as He was doing with Adam and Eve before the fall of man – Genesis 3:8-9. There is nothing too big or small that you can’t talk to God about. All He wants is for you to be willing and obedient and you will enjoy the good of this world.

However, if you choose not to talk to God, the troubles of the world will overwhelm you. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Abraham knew how to reason with God and get his desire. During the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, he succeeded in getting God to promise not to destroy the nations if there were ten righteous men within them. Unfortunately, there were no ten righteous men and Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed – Genesis 18:16-33

Moses was another man who also reasoned with God and got his heart desire. When the Israelites where in the wilderness, they sinned against God and provoked Him; God then decided to wipe them all off and make of Moses a great nation. But Moses pleaded on behalf of his brethren, gave God reasons why He should not destroy them and God changed His mind – Exodus 32:10-14. You can get God to change His mind if you will go and talk to Him, plead your case and God will respond .

Furthermore, Jesus our perfect example, did exploits while on earth because He was constantly talking to God. He never did anything without consulting the Father. He judged as He heard from God and His judgment was always right because He was willing and obedient to God – John 5:30

You may wonder how God will respond to you. The Lord truly responds to us when we talk to Him aright. He talks back to you through His word (bible) or/and through an inner witness in your heart. You will just know that you have got the answer. The Holy Spirit helps you to ascertain it.

Truly, God is saying to you today, “come and talk to me yourself”. You really don’t need a middle man; God wants you to talk to Him as a son would a father. It will gladden Him and you will reap all the blessings.
