Introduction
Success in the New Year is not a product of wishes or good intentions alone—it is the result of intentional labour guided by faith. Many people enter a new year hoping for breakthroughs, promotion, and greater achievements, but Scripture makes it clear that what you sow determines what you reap. According to biblical principles for success, God rewards diligence, faithfulness, and obedience. Therefore, if you desire New Year success, you must be willing to work your dreams spiritually, mentally, and physically, trusting God to bless the labour of your hands.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap – Galatians 6:7 (NKJV)
Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor – 1 Corinthians 3:8 (NKJV)
Success in the New Year will come based on your labour, not merely your wishes or dreams. Truly, you must wake up and work your dreams for them to become reality.
God Is Not Unjust.
Imagine labouring spiritually, mentally, and physically, only for God to promote someone who did nothing. Certainly, you would protest if that were the case. As I often say, do nothing and you get nothing in return. However, when you put in effort, know that it is with the same measure you apply that God will reward you.
Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you – Luke 6:38 (NKJV)
Choose Your Desired End and Go for It
Therefore, decide what you want the New Year to deliver to you and intentionally work towards it. Pay the price commensurate with your desired results, and God will reward your efforts with great success.
Work on yourself—spirit, soul, and body. Develop yourself, and build the skills and capacity required to handle the outcomes you desire. Then put them to work.
Prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterward build your house – Proverbs 24:27 (NKJV)
Important Steps to Take
- Feed consistently on God’s Word to gain knowledge of His will and to build your faith.
- Pray without ceasing, including taking time to pray in tongues.
- Study relevant books to develop your mindset and gain practical insight toward achieving your goals.
- Prayerfully take intentional steps toward actualizing your dreams.
- Remain meek, humble, and teachable.
- Live a lifestyle of gratitude unto the Lord at all times.
